Spain 1992. That’s all you usually have to say to most basketball fans. They already know what you are making reference to. The greatest team ever assembled for competition. They were called the ‘Dream Team‘.
On June 13th 2012, NBA TV is showing a documentary about the greatest team ever, 20 years later. It includes video footage from practices. Normally that wouldn’t really peak my interest, but many of the Dream Team members all claim that the practices were better than the games they played. Lots of trash talking, dunks and plays that would have been on ESPN’s highlight of the night had they been aired 20 years ago, will now finally see the light of day. For any basketball fan, new or old, this is a dream come true to see all of this. My phone will be off at 9PM on June 13th, if you’re really a friend, you wouldn’t call me while this is playing.
